I was introduced to this tea years ago by a woman I met on a cruise ship. She swore by it especially on days or for events when overeating happens. I have used both the regular and extra strength varieties. I have found that the regular strength works just fine for my needs. I take it at night when I do take it, with honey. I do not use it more than one evening at a time. And have only used it maybe twice or three times in one week at most, never consecutive nights. When I wake in the morning, sometimes before my alarm clock, it’s because of a bowel movement. Consistency varies but always at about 10-12 hours after. I don’t recommend drinking this in the morning or afternoon because your sleep could be impacted by the need to use the toilet. The extra strength version works faster for me but also causes some intense cramping. Regular strength has become my go to since it still works with less intense cramping and easier, less loose, bowel movements. Highly recommend.

I'm not sure what to write about this tea being that it's a consumable item; but I will give my opinion of it in categories I've chosen to break this review down.
Here goes-

Method of Preparation/Taste-

This tea has one of the lightest tastes of any tea I've tasted thus far. Whilst it doesn't have a strong herbacious flavor or a strong brew, it has enough flavor to recognize it as tea. A very mild tea. Personally, I put a little honey in this tea and it tasted just a tad better. The overall flavor is very light and mild and doesn't compliment sweetness too much.
If you're looking for taste, by all means steam and steep some Earl Grey, Lipton or other tea varieties. As far as preparation, I simply boiled water courtesy of my microwave and left the tea bag in the water while in the microwave for 2 minutes. After taking it out of the microwave, I noticed that the color was significantly lighter than other teas in which I steeped it a little and that was it.

Effects-

I've read some reviews on here that said this tea will make you run to the bathroom. While I haven't had that strong of an effect from drinking this tea, I will say that this tea is much stronger than it appears to be. In about 30 minutes time, I was going to the bathroom, and you can feel this tea working on your stomach and making you sweat thanks to the Senna and herbs that's in it. After an hour's time, I noticed an increase in energy, and the fact that I was able to exercise for longer periods of time. This tea's ideal for losing extra water that you've retained and even burning calories and fat. It works as advertised. The best part about this tea is that while it boosts energy, it has no caffeine, therefore, you'll be able to sleep.

Side effects-

Keep in mind that everyone's different. But my experience in side effects so far are increased energy and a slight headache. This could be due to my low calorie diet or the fact that I haven't had any real sugar lately.

Anyway, I highly recommend this tea. I personally bought this just to help with bowel movements and exercise and it works despite it's ultra cheap price. It comes in a small green and black box with small Chinese writing at the top and looks like something one could get from a small Asian shop or dollar store. However, at this price, it's a steal. I myself will be buying more.

I truly believe some things work well for some and not for other.... and I'm glad to say this tea works excellent for me! Yay! I brew 1 regular size coffee cup with 2 tea bags daily. Sometimes I let the tea sit for hours and then reheat it before I drink it, other times I drink it immediately. Sometimes I drink it in the morning, other times in the afternoon, a few times I have had it at night. Bottomline: No matter how I brew it or when I drink it my result have always been the same- approx. 3 hours later I go to the bathroom.

Now, unlike many reviewers I have not had a horrific experience once with this tea. I think that has to do with the fact that I have always suffered from some form of constipation since my teen years. In the more recent years it hasn't been too bad but it's not abnormal for me to go 2 or 3 days without a bm (sorry tmi). That's just my regular cycle- and many women in my family are the exact same way so I think it's just the norm for us.

This is probably why my experience is so much better than every one elses. I have had my history with using over the counter tablet laxatives and this tea has been much more gentle! I only need one trip to the bathroom per cup I drink of tea. With harse over the counter laxatives I have experienced painful cramping and the need to have multiple trips to the ladies room. But not with this tea!

This tea gives me a mild cramping that's not at all horrific. And after one quick trip to the restroom I'm free as a bird lol.

I would strongly suggest this tea for any ladies who have suffered with constipation. I think that the reviewers who have had more unpleasant experiences with this tea were probably "regular" anyway so their bodies were in overdrive.

What I LOVE about this tea:

Taste is mild- a couple of times I have drank it room temp. which allowed me to be able to gulp it.
Works consistently for my body. Easy to gage when I'll need to go.
I'm LOSING WEIGHT! I am down 8lbs off the one box so I am very motivated to keep going! (Actually looking forward to having this on an upcoming Cruise!!!!!)

Again, I drink one glass of tea every day. I have begun to eat very light and healthy Mon-Thurs (only salad, salad, water, and salad). But on the weekends I have whatever I want. So maybe my diet has aided in the success of my weight loss but either way I am pleased.

I am going to try two more boxes of this regular and then move up to the Extra Strenght formula.

First things first. This is a supplement to an already existing diet that you should have. It really helps keeping things moving and managing water weight. Things to watch out for: it may take a few times for you to find your balance with this stuff. The first time I had one tea bag, following the directions, it didn't really work. But the next day, I repeated, and it began to work and I had liftoff!

Bottom line here is, it works in maintaining a healthy colon and ridding your body of excess buildup. You just have to find your balance with it. Sometimes I steep longer than advised and sometimes I steep for less. Just don't use it more than a week or so at a time and goodness gracious if you don't want to be in the bathroom all day, do not try to double the dosage. Your body needs to rest after any detox regimen.
